I've been reading everyone's ideas and posts regarding our exhibit. First priority is we need to come up with a title. I liked Vanessa's "Weaving Life Through Native California." It can have numerous meanings (the basket making process itself, the weaver, collectors of basketry, collection process, NAGPRA process, etc). We can add a subtitle if we think it is needed. Next, I think we should draft an outline and list the tasks, assign or volunteer what part you are interested in, and set deadlines for each week. As stated by Carrie, Amanda and others in the class, we can group the tasks under certain headlines. For example, The Collection Process, The Basket (how it's made, maker, why it was made, commercial, utilitarian, etc. or following the life of a basket) The NAGPRA process, and Collector. Wish I knew something more about blogging because I have no idea how to create the RSS feed so we can all read each others blogs without having to click on each name. We will have to see who the tech savvy person is on Wednesday! Lab time: 1 1/2 reading blogs, posting pictures of baskets I will be working on, brainstorming!

Good job Mary. I show you how to upload photos in a single post today. Also--if you wanted to start giving your posts a title (it goes in the line above the box for you main text), it will show up in everyone's RSS feed (and we'll get that going for you today.) Some great ideas in this post. Looking forward to placing them all in a potential design today in class.
